Friend recommended to read the novel (Time Travelers’ wife) saying novel is better than the movie itself. Therefore, I watched it and came out from the cinema with a smile on my face. I wondered why…
The storyline is pretty simple that the husband is a time traveler who couldn’t control when/where he would travel to. But he can only travel to major events pertaining to his own life. Nothing fancy about the character apart from starring by hunky Eric Bana and some topless/naked shots. However, I was deeply touched by the wife character starring by charming Rachel McAdams. The passion and belief that she has over the man she loved ever since they met when she was a little girl, has struck my head lightly. Felt like something that I’ve lost over the years, and wondered whether such unconditional love still exist nowadays? Another lovely fairy tales it must be, I thought of this while putting a smile to myself.
People tend to say that novel-based movie isn’t normally as good as the original novel. What do you think? Can you think of any great novel-based movie?

haha, most of the time i'll just go for the movie because i'm not a book guy.. :p i haven't watch this movie yet leh, am planning to already..
hmm~ lotr?
i watched this movie a while ago i think. :P quite sweet. but then again, like [SK], am not a book guy too. like the Notebook or A Walk To Remember, they say the novel is sooo good u'll cry. and i already cried while watching the movie ler.... then the books ma be like what? like the cutting the onions ah? LOL
I read books but not for movies! It would be boring la, just like rearing the chick and then slaughter to make kari ayam!
i think mayb its bcoz the books leave us some space of 'imagination' while the movie will deliver the 'whole story'
I have watched a few novel adaption movies and I certainly prefer to read the books... own wildest imagination...
Agreed with Pikey. Letting our imaginations go wild is so much more fun. Movies are mostly cramped and lousier substitute versions of the original plots, hence much of the plots essence missin.

to mention a few, lord of the rings, marley and me, p.s i love you.
reading book is your own imagination... so the censorship board cannot "Potong"... if movie when come to Malaysia some intimate part got "Potong" "Potong" "Potong" even a kissy scene pun "Potong"...
*Potong = Cut in Malay --> Censored.
SK: I'm not a book guy either. But if the book is really good, I don't mind to read it lo.
L²: Nice, LOTR is really good.
Medie007: Wow, I don't know you are such a sentimental guy who cry so easily wo. Since I didn't watch these 2 movies, maybe I should read the novel and let you know.
Grandma Twilight: I know I know, 3 lorries just to move all your books!!! Bet we all know how much do you read..
the happy go lucky one: Absolutely agree with this, we always love to use our own imagination don't we?
pikey: Yeah, guess we are in the same species...love to imagine..:)
Anton: Wildest imagination huh, make sure you didn't over imagine it. LOL
Danny: Aiyo, but you went and pose in the book shop!!!
Paul J: Ah, I wanted to watch PS I Love You too....
TZ: Well well, this is what I hate most. Censored here and there. But kinda used to it.
I have read the book of PS I love you and The Time Traveler's Wife. Both books are definitely better than the movies because movie is not so detailed and not that much emotions as captured in the books. For example, in TTFW, Eric Bana's mum died in a freaky accident but it was not in the movie.
You should read the book. The movie is disappointing.
Cheers.
Northern Sky: Ah, finally someone who has read and watched the movie. I'll definitely get the book since you strongly recommended it. Thanks a lot!!!
Reading the book now. Not too bad so far. Hope the movie lives up to the book!
savante: You are reading it? Lovely, I shall get the book soon. Thanks for sharing.
