What’s Your Color?

22 JUNE 2010: Some people said color represents emotion, while others would say color represents fashion etc. This is quite a subjective topic dependent on individual’s belief. Still remember a friend used to tell me that there’re only black and white in the world, that light is the main source producing colors. Honestly, I don’t like the idea at all that I don’t want my world to be colorless and depending on other (light) to color my world. We all should have control over our own life, I believe.

Back to the topic; it was gloomy morning that I chose to wear a red polo shirt for work to bright up my day a little perhaps. And the other 2 team mates of mine wore the same color (different tones) by coincidence. Of course we do have our own reason for choosing such color. However, I couldn’t help but wonder that the choice was merely based on our emotion influenced by the weather.

What is color of shirt that you wear today? And why did you choose such color?

TechEureka Career Day

12 MAY 2010: With collaboration between MSC Malaysia and The Star Online, TechEureka will organize a Career Day in PWTC, KL from 14-16 May 2010. The career fair aims to provide youths with a platform to learn more about opportunities in the ICT (information and communications technology) industry and also participate in the programs.

There’ll be more than 300 companies participate in the Career Day itself. My company will have a booth setup during these 3 days event where I’ll be there on Saturday (15 May 2010). We’re actually looking for fresh graduates to fill in various trainee positions within our organization.

This would definitely be a great platform for youths to explore more about ICT industry and discover their own potential within the industry. Come and expose yourself with a better opportunity if you’re looking for one.

In case you see me there, do drop by to say “hi” ok. See you.

Lou Sang

10 FEB 2010: Bet this is the thing that we all love to do during the CNY festive season. I remember that people used to start Lou Sang-ing after the actual CNY, but it seems totally different now.

Wherever I went for dinner at any Chinese restaurant weeks back, they already asked whether we want to Lou Sang. And till today, I’ve done it 2 times. And I believe I will have another round during my company dinner later tonight.

Does anyone know what the actual purpose of Lou Sang is? So that everything will be better next year. But what if we did it too much? Can “better” turn out to be “worse”? Just a food of thought for you. How many times you have Lou Sang till today? What do you enjoy most about it? I know someone actually like to eat it (Bought from Jusco and kept in his fridge, you know who you are huh)

Company Annual Dinner

13 June 2009: Went for my company annual dinner at Crowne Plaza hotel, located beside Wisma Genting. The theme of the dinner was “Occupation Night” where I supposed everyone should dress in their dream occupation. But surprisingly only 10 of them reeally put effort to dress up. As I’m damn busy lately managing and running few projects on my hand, I just simply dressed like an office boy. Well, I thought of being a fisherman though but I didn’t have time to prepare those clothes and tools.

The ballroom was located at 30th floor, which is quite with a lovely view of KL. The dinner was scheduled to start at 6:30pm but lots of typical Malaysian colleagues were late. So the dinner ended up started at 7:30pm. It was a buffet style dinner where the food served was fine with acceptable varieties. As far as I’m concerned, I ate quite a lot of salmon and mutton that made me feel guilty until today. But luckily I did go to gym these 2 days to burn those excessive calories taken.

Talking about gym, I purposely went to CF earlier today to join the cycling class. But the class was full, with 5-6 names on waiting list. So I ended up did my routine workout of running plus weight training. Will definitely try out the cycling and bodypump classes someday.

Oh yea, almost forgotten about the lucky draw session. The "lucky" me have got a voucher for a night stay at Cyberview Lodge with 2 breakfast. Why on earth I need to stay there as my house is just 10 minutes away? So I traded it with my colleague for a Nike bag. Not a bad deal huh, at least I can use the Nike bag for gym.

Company DeepaRaya Dinner

Knowing that I won't have much work to do for these few days, went to office with a holiday mood. Purposely woke up earlier at the morning to do ironing, which I've picked a shirt that I bought few years back in Bangladesh for my company DeepaRaya dinner. This is an annual dinner organized by our company's social commitee to celebrate Hari Raya + Deepavali. Thanks for their effort. The dress code for this year is "Traditional". Took me sometime the night before to think of the shirt that can match with the theme.

Later at noon, went to a nearby mall in Putrajaya with a few close friends of mine. I remembered that we used to have a debate on pronounciation of the mall's name "Alamanda".

Me: Hey, how do you guys actually pronounce this name?
Nesh: Ala-manda....
Lyn: Really?
Me: I think should be Alam-anda...
White boy: Nah..it's actually a muslim name of an English lady.
Lyn: Are you sure?
Me: Oh yea....how would it be?
White boy: It's Al-Amanda!!!

It was kind of funny at that time. Haha, this boy really can make us laugh. Anyway, we weren't suppose to eat so much as we'll have another round of buffet dinner in few hours time. However, someone suggested pizza and all of us agreed. After a cup of mushroom soup, a breadstick, a slice of garlic bun and 3 slices of pizza...my jeans started to feel tight. I knew tonight is gonna be tough!!!

Few hours later whileI still can feel those pizza floating inside my stomach, we went to the nearby resort (Cyberview Resort) for the DeepaRaya dinner. Reached the resort in less than 3 minutes drive. The resort has a very nice swimming pool with an artificial waterfall. And coincidencely, there was a garden wedding going on at the same time...another lovely couple tied the knot at this romantic place...wish them happily ever after.

Dinner started at around 7pm. Food variety wasn't that much and the food quality was just fine. Started with vegetable shark fin soup followed by salad, main course (Fried kuey tiew, vegetables, vegetable green curry, chicken rendang, mutton curry and baked potato), dessert and a cup of coffee...it's gonna take me the next whole week of jogging to burn these. Anyway, I had a great time snapping photo with the 2 angels and had a nice chat with some other colleague.

KEENYEE is always appreciating the moment like this...
