Ping “Pong Pong”

Still remember that I love to play ping pong a lot during my secondary schooling. I wouldn’t say I’m good on it as I’m not naturally gifted when it comes to sport. Once I played bola sepak and the ball hit directly on my face…malu for the rest of the week. Then I went to play basketball lor, I pulak the shortest among all the players. That was why I ended up playing ping pong.

I was very happy when my company announced that we’ll have so called “sport day” every Wednesday. It started last week with ping pong, which was one of my favourite la so called. Mana tau pulak they tried to be creative, came up with following idea:

For those who know me well, of course I won’t jump into that pond la…hilang all my images that I’ve built for the past 1 year nanti. So the question is..would you jump into the pond to play ping pong?

Standard Chartered KL Marathon 2009

28 JUNE 2009: The 1st Standard Chartered KL Marathon had been held at Dataran Merdeka today. I’ve participated in the 10km run that started at 7am. I woke up at 4am on the day itself to get myself ready and took a light breakfast of cereals and bananas; drove myself to Bukit Jalil LRT station for the bus to Dataran Merdeka just to avoid the traffic jam due to road block around the city. I won’t critic on the event over here though I heard quite a lot of complaints about it. Anyhow, there’re a lot spaces for improvement thatI hope Standard Chartered will do a better job next year from the experience they've got this year.

I’ve tried my very best to complete the 10km run this time in order to break my own personal record. The result can be checked on the official page within 48 hours that I’ll definitely share with you guys once I’ve got it.

If you noticed that I didn’t wear the shirt given, it was because the L size was really oversize and they didn’t allow me to change the shirt size during the goodies collection.

Did you join this marathon? If yes, what is your review on it?

Next run: Siemens Run 2009 (19 July 2009)

Hula Looping

22 APR 2009: As the poor me couldn’t afford to pay for the expensive monthly gym membership, I try to jog whenever possible after work at the lakeside nearby my office. But you know, the sky doesn’t do me good sometimes that I have to think of an alternative way to get my body in shape.

Therefore, I’ll normally go for Hula Looping!!! No kidding dude, I’m kinda good on this that I can continuously looping for at least 30 minutes without dropping the hoop.

Have you tried this before? And how long you can loop without dropping the hoop?

Anyhow, I don't see any slimming effect as my waist is still so freaking huge!!

KL International Forest Towerthon 2009

1 MAR 2009: It was my 1st time joining a towerthon event. A friend of mine (Lai) joined last year and she said it wasn’t so tough, and therefore I didn’t put much training prior to this event. Woke up at 5am on the day itself to get myself ready, had a simple breakfast and drove to Chak’s house at Puchong. I was kind of lazy to drive there as parking is always an issue in KL especially during this kind of event (What a lame excuse).

There were 4 different flag off groups where men’s categories were divided into 3 separate groups while women’s category has only 1 group. I was in the 1st group to start at 8am. The starting point was located at the bottom of Bukit Nanas where we have to run about 1km uphill towards the tower. While the tower itself consist of 24 levels where water stations were available at every 4 levels. Not too bad la. Anyhow, the stairway was quite narrow that can only fit 2 person of my size side-by-side (If you are bigger in size, people might curse you for blocking the way) and the air-ventilation wasn’t as bad as expected (still can breathe normally lo).

Reached the finishing point with my head-to-toe all-wet look. Damn, I think I could probably squeeze out a glass of fresh hot juice from my shirt and shorts. Looked at the time, it was 8:35am. It took me around 35 minutes to complete the event, wasn’t so bad I guess. While waiting for my other friends, I walked around the observation deck, took some water to replenish myself, and not forgotten to camwhore a bit for sure. It has been so long since the last time I came here, but it wasn’t changed much. Took the queue for lift to get down, collected our finisher medals, and went for breakfast at OldTown (Jalan Yap Kwan Seng). It was another unforgettable and enjoyable event with a great bunch of friends. Will I join again next year? I guess so. See you guys next year!!!
