"Top" on "Lap" inside the "Car"

15 JULY 2009: I’m a person who’s very lazy to carry a laptop around. However, I have to do that due to the nature of my work. I have no problem at all to use the laptop around the office. In fact, I do like it in such a way that I could move around to sit at any meeting room to have my own little private time. Sounds cheeky, does it?

The biggest issue with the laptop is when I need to go for gym after work. Since I don’t feel good to carry it around or to lock it inside the gym’s locker room, I’ve asked some of my colleague for a better suggestion on how to store the laptop safely inside my car.

Coll 1: Carry it around with you for safety. (Lovely….do I need to ask more?)
Coll 2: Just put it inside the car boot. (CRAP!!)
Coll 3: Take out the laptop and put it under the seat, and put the bag inside the boot. (Hmm..does it works?)

So boys and girls..ladies and gentlemen, any better suggestion for me?

Paul J: Wow, mini lappie. I have no choice as it belongs to company. Shall I request for a mini lappie too?

Leu: Yalor, heard about the sensor thingy. Thats's why dare not to put inside car lo.

Freedom09: I know car's window is expensive. I had a case years ago, bad experience, and drove back under the rain without the glass ler...damn..

the happy go lucky one: Wow, you provide such service to take care of ppl's laptop? Good business? Looking for partimer?

mangO: Then I need to work from home almost everyday de. And after a month, you won't see me again in the company..keke.

Danny: Eh abang, u r so smart wo. Guess what, I always wondering what are those lockers near the towel counter for...Now I know. Change next to the counter? Wanna show such big piece of meat in public or not? Wanna help those people to loss their appetite mer.

aaronng88: I'm just lazy to carry too many bags around. You know, another lazy KL ppl.

put it in your car boot, put take out the battery.. heard that those sensor cannot sense electrical apparatus without battery.. you try and let me know~~

anyway, to be safest, it's still advisable to carry it with you all the time..

As happy said, please try not to leave your lappie in the car. Lockers are not safe too, even if it is beside the counter. Too many reported and unreported cases of broken locks in the gyms ody. My uncle's car was stolen in the carpark .... his car wuz parked next to the security office.

I guess the risk is always there so try best to schedule no homework on gym days. Lappie is most safe at home or in the office. ^_^

SK: I actually heard about the battery thingy as well, but never tried it. Well, if someone has to sacrify to prove it, why not me? hehe...I think I might end up carrying that bulky thing with me around.

Anton: Yes yes, heard some stories about the safety in the gym's locker too. Seems like it isn't safe everywhere nowadays. The problem is, I don't feel safe to put the lappie inside office as well. Home is always safest I guess.

All CB ideas so far and none can work. I also have this issue and my MAC is so heavy. Michi always ticked me off for being lazy to carry it from the car.
I was thinking of buying the sensor to test it myself by wrapping the lappie with aluminium foil, blankets, banana leaves or anything that works. BTW where to buy the thief's sensors? Anyone know any thief?

SK: Er, my target now is not my shoulder and forearm le. Maybe I should tie it to my tummy, and train my tummy instead. I know you always carrying your backpack around, that's the way you use to train yourself huh.

Grandma Twilight: Ah...very good. you can test2 all those methods mentioned and share with us in case it works. I think can try to find it at Jalan Pasar nearby Pudu la, I went once and they have all sort of cheapo electronic gadgets there.

LAURENCE: I don't think it's safe to put it in office. If somebody took it (Although we have CCTV), I have to pay for the cost lo.

Pikey: Carry to gym would be a better choice can putting it inside car boot though.

keeyit: I'm definitely standing on your side here. It's soooo troublesome...

like those uncles do.

You serious? Please go to Jalan Pasar again and buy it for me. I will pay you COD. Both of us can become part time lappie thieves!

Medie007: Uncles? They carry it while working out? Sounds silly though.

Grandma Twilight: My ex coll always went to Jln Pasar whenever they need any electonic gadget/component. I've been there once and bought some cheapo electronic toys for nephew, but lasted only few days, keke. Partime lappie thieves, sounds like a good business plan..we discuss offline ya.

Medie007 said...

no ah...

mana tau their laptop is those 5000bucks type ler... leave in locker doesnt sound safe ma

TZ said...

Dude, you just need to carry together with you... no better way... but if your lappie is Mac like Grandma twilight... just put inside the box full of apples ... don't forget to leave one apple with a bite... the thieves will think it's just apples ... kaka :p

KY said...

Medie007: Maybe it was a bomb. :)

TZ: It ain't fun to carry that piece of rock around. My company lappie isn't those mini lappie lo. Mac? Hehe...the poor me couldn't afford lo.
