St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, is one of Christianity's most widely known figures. St. Patrick's Day is celebrated on March 17, his religious feast day and the anniversary of his death in the fifth century. The Irish have observed this day as a religious holiday for over a thousand years.
Saint Patrick's Day is celebrated worldwide by those of Irish descent and increasingly by non-Irish people (usually in New Zealand, Australia, and North America). Celebrations are generally themed around all things Irish and, by association, the colour green. Both Christians and non-Christians celebrate the secular version of the holiday by wearing green, eating Irish food and/or green foods, imbibing Irish drink (such as Irish stout, Irish Whiskey or Irish Cream) and attending parades.
How would I celebrate it?
I wasn’t aware of such celebration earlier as I’m not Christian myself. However, colleagues of mine invited me to join them for drinking session at Fennigans KL later tonight, being told that there’ll be “Green beer” served. Interesting isn’t it? Hope I won’t get cheated lo. :)
Do you celebrate this day? Let’s share it!!!
